Virtuous 2.3

Whats the deal with the battery wiping I've been seeing?

I don't do with a new ROM install, and don't think it matters, but I can't help but wonder if it makes a difference with a kernel install.

Here's my process (after new ROM was installed):

Moved new Kernel zip onto card
Turned off phone
Bump charged phone
Turned on phone
Wiped battery stats
installed new Kernel

Again, it may be a bunch of extra useless steps, but since the kernel definitely affects battery behavior, it stands to reason that perhaps it would benefit from a blank baseline. At worst, I don't think it hurts anything.

Anyone who knows what there about regarding kernels is encouraged to chime in.

Yea, I have read a ton of mixed results...some saying do it when its 100%, some saying do it when its dead...some saying it helps, others saying its placebo...I am not sure I will give it a try since their is no marked improvements and not really sure what the risks are...you know, Risk Vs. Reward type of thing..

Looks like V 2.5 is out.

Changelog
Version 2.5:
Fixed "demon voices" while using Flash Player on certain sites.
Thanks to ihtftp69 for information on the fix.
Added support for ROM Manager's OTA update functionality.
Many goodies will be available soon via ROM Manager, I encourage using it.
Disabled HTC Peep for now.
It is broken due to Twitter's Oauth change (Details: https://dev.twitter.com/oauth/overview/faq).
Moved Car Panel to /data/app.
Updated Superuser to 2.3.5.
Fixed Camera sound effects (i.e. shutter).

This is the only ROM that i have found that i actually like.

Only one thing bothers me.. Does anyone know how to remove the transparency from the pull-down notification menu?

I'm going to stay on 2.4 for one cycle, then update. The updates are coming a bit too fast and furious. I know they'll slow down as we'll eventually get to the point that all known issues are addressed. Waiting for that point.

I don't use flash enough to care about the demon voices.

Updated to 2.5 last night with a full wipe. Hoping to resolve wifi and battery use issues.

I am really enjoying this ROM. I realize that it is basically stock without the crapware, but it works and it works well. Battery life with this ROM is noticeably better than the later SR ROMS. I really don't know why except that it looks like Virtuous is using a stock HTC kernel. Nice work, though.

Sorry for the double post. My connection timed out and appeared not to post even after refreshing the page.

The only issue I've come across (aside from Twitter not working which is a known issue) is the virtual keyboard is a bit wonky.

Before, when you selected a text field, the virtual keyboard would pop up on the bottom of the screen and the top of the screen would turn into a giant text box.

Now, the keyboard pops on the bottom, but the giant textbox does not. I end up typing directly into the textbox on the website that I am viewing, which tends to get lost due to scrolling, diminished screen real estate because of the keyboard, etc.

Anyone else experiencing the same?
