Do you have virus protection on your phone and if so what is it?

I use the Antivirus free from AVG mobilation. it works well for me on my inc. it intercepts "suspicious" texts, scans new apps installed, detects bad web sites, scans my phone daily, etc. It doesn't seem to use much battery as i have not noticed any unusual drain..

I use AVG on my home computer so i trust them for protection.

Try the search function. I have reviewed all three major ones in at least 3 different threads.

I've never felt the need for an AV on Android at this point. I don't visit Chinese Websites to pirate Software, and I don't blindly sideload anything I happen to see.

There may come a day when that changes, but I think the best features these apps offer is a remote wipe function, though it's usually in the premium version.

Although I tend to agree to a certain extent, I actually just downloaded Lookout Mobile on my phone on Friday. It does work. And since we can't sign up the original DInc on HTCSense.com for the remote wipe, the Lookout app and others like it, provide peace of mind, which really helps a lot of paranoid Android phone owners.

But just a little research and common sense go a long way. Everything PvilleComp just said is 100% true as far as staying away from those foreign, unknown 3rd party appstore websites. The only appstores, other than the Android market I have are Amazon's and AppBrain, which backs up your apps. Also checking permissions when you attempt to download an app is important also. Why would you need access to my GPS and Call History if I am playing Tic-Tac-Toe?

I have Zoner Antivirus for free. Its simple, does eat up all energy and it can track my phone if I lose it. :)
