downloaded Virus_Airborne_Rom
installed fine
market is a bit different looking---and none of my apps will automatically download
is this what's known as broken market links?

gmail, maps, talk, etc are all downloaded---so i don't think i need to install gapps via RomManager

i have titaniumBackup/mybackup/RomManagerPro installed & backed up everything before i installed this ROM coming from DasBamf1.7
did i miss a step?

this is a pretty good looking ROM so far, but not having all my apps auto-download is something that's kind of annoying.

EDIT: also, on a related note:
downloaded/flashed DasBamf1.7, created a backup (via RomManager) of it running smoothly with everything customized. can i now delete the .zip install file from the sd card? or does the phone still need that IF i restore to the backup using RomManager?

You don't need to keep the ROM zip file to use the backups made using ROM Manager. I usually keep it since it's convenient in case I want to reflash the ROM.

Edit: I believe that Virus ROM is no longer being developed or supported so if you have any issues there won't be any fixes or updates. In any event, were you able to restore your apps using Titanium Backup?

ok--figured i didn't need to keep the .zip of the initial ROM download, but just wanted to make sure.

no longer being developed? blast. well. it actually isn't that great compared to DasBamf. just looks like it's skinned of bloatware. maybe i'm just not looking at the big picture.
i ended up flashing back to DB, but did for the 1st time restore app data using TitaniumBackup. and in the process, saw the option for "restore app data, restore app data & app" so i guess that answers my question. i just wonder if that would restore the market link, too--so it could update from the market.

either way, i guess this is solved. thanks man

There's a setting in Titanium Backup to save an app's Market link when backing up the app. I have the paid version of TB, which has that option. Titanium Backup Pro was the first app I bought and it's been well worth the six bucks it cost.

Also, there's a thread on xda that tracks all the available ROMs and kernels for the ThunderBolt. There's a "Graveyard" section that lists the ROMs that are no longer being developed or supported.

didn't see the 'market link' option, i'll have to look into it before next backup
