Visual Voice-mail? I have at&t

I cannot seem to find the visual Voice-mail on the XZ1 compact. How do I set this up?

What do you mean? By holding down the number 1 on your keypad should allow you to setup or access voice mail.

Plus if you hit the phone icon you should see a little icon along the top bar which you can also press for voice mail access.

With visual voice mail, you can see the messages and play any messages without going through the usual voice mail menu prompts. It's super convenient.

I think most current phones have this option but I'm not seeing it on the XZ1 compact.

I now see what you mean. I use Google voice and forward all my calls from my regular carrier to Google.

I receive a text, email in Gmail along with voice mail read back or play as needed.

I just switched from Windows 10 Mobile to Android using a Xperia XA1 Ultra. I just figured out the phone does not have this feature - hard to believe. Anyway, is there a third party app that will load and perofrm this function?
