Is anyone have issues with their visual voicemail not working on the s22 ultra ? Every time I get a voicemail it goes to the regular at&t voicemail . I tried going into the app to set it up ,but I keep getting error messages. I'm posting two pictures to show the messages. I googlesd and apparently it's a known issue on the s 22, but I haven't ran across a solution yet.

Are you using an unlocked device from Samsung or a locked device from AT&T?

Which firmware are you using, AT&T or unlocked?

I don't have any problems with visual voicemail on my unlocked device, but I use Verizon. I'm using the unlocked firmware.

Are you using the AT&T app? Me and my wife haven't had any visual voicemail issues on any of our phones on AT&T... but all of our phones are factory unlocked, and we're using the Google phone app.

I always thought "Visual Voicemail" meant that it takes voicemail left by caller and translates to text that you can read the message left in the Visual Voicemail app... I guess not? I could have sworn I had that kind of app when I had my LG G2 or Nexus 4 a long time ago??

Just tested by calling my phone and left voicemail and worked as far as left an audio recording.

Unlocked on AT&T

Any advantages or features on the Google Phone app over the stock phone app that comes with unlocked phone?

Just available through Google Play Store? No special version to look for?

Thanks.

All of our phones came stock with the Google phone app... we use pixels and Moto's. I know some other brands like Samsung come with their own version of the phone dialer and visual voicemail apps. And the carriers have their own pre-installed versions as well if you get a carrier locked phone. On my unlocked Pixels and my wife's unlocked Moto we get both the text version and audio recording of the voicemail in the voicemail tab. On my backup Moto Z3 Play on TracFone (which runs on Verizon) I only get the audio recording.

AT&T includes the full vvm experience on our main phones.... I'm guessing TracFone would want me to pay extra for that ;)

The main reason I like the Google phone app is because it's all in one, and I've never had an issue with it. But I have read of other apps having problems with vvm, among other things.

As far as features, I personally haven't used another phone app enough to know how they compare. I do know on the Pixels and Moto's, all the Google call screening features are included, which are extremely nice to have :D

What carrier? I have an unlocked S22 ultra on tmobile. My voicemail worked fine but I needed to pay extra for it to convert voicemail to text. I don't know about other carriers.

On my pixel it can read as a text

That's what it means on Verizon. That's the "Visual" part of VVM.

Yep. That's what I always thought too. But I believe my Note 8 and Note 20U would have an app like this on my S22U that says Visual Voicemail but it always looks like...

That's how mine looks. There's no text.

It must be something to do with the Samsung app then.. we're also on AT&T and my pixel 3XL running the Google phone app, and my wife's Moto G6 also running the Google phone app both get full text transcriptions. Those are both 2018 phones, and we're not paying anything extra for vvm.

Mustang also gets text on his pixel.. and sweetypie doesn't on her Samsung either.
