Not sure about anyone else, but Visual Voicemail on T-Mobile is completely useless. And now, I understand that they are going to start charging for it!
Background: I looked on my T-Mobile Account the other day to check out my bill and pay it. I noticed some real funky things on the bill... such as one of our phone numbers listed twice and being charged twice. I also noticed that not only did my phone have insurance on it (which is correct) but my 11 year old's phone had insurance on it (which I never put on the phone). So we called in and got a very nice CS Billing Rep who made some significant changes to our family account, got the issues straightened out and saved us $40 a month at the same time ($480 a year isn't chump change). No complaint there.
All that said, during my discussion with her she asked if I was really using Visual Voicemail. I said that it was so goofy that I had to listen to the actual voice messages anyway because you can't read have of what is in the VVM. She unprovisioned the program in my account and then told me that they are going to start charging (and I believe she said.. either) $3.99 or $4.99 a month for the service. That is nuts... the thing doesn't even work right. She even said that she stopped using it because she couldn't make out three quarters of the messages.
T-Mobile really needs to get the Voice-to-Text software corrected on this program before they start charging people for using it. Half the words come out wrong and make no sense. This is one case where they jumped the gun big time. Get it right before allowing it to see the light!
