Does it install Associated T-Mobile bloat? I am not want to install any carrier crap, but I do like VVM.

Back in the day, I used to use YouMail.... since 2012 I've been using T-Mobile's Visual Voicemail since it comes pre-installed on my phones. Always works fine, never have any problems. I rarely get voicemails though.. maybe 2 or 3 a year, so I couldn't say I'm a heavy user. (I use between 15-30 voice minutes a month)
I installed the tmobile visual vm app from the app store.

Great I know. But doesn't it add other crap like the My Account app does?

no, you just download the individual app. I did download the my tmobile app also. just for checking data usage, but all the apps are separated.

The My Account app adds bloat in that it does you the magnanimous favor of checking your phone for problems and then announces the non-problems it finds in a manner that can't be stopped.

yeah, I noticed that. I did turn them off. hasn't been notifying any "problem" since.

IME, turning off that "helpful" device check does nothing. It still checks, often.

Honestly the Google Voice visual voicemail is great for me. Now, it displays in hangouts along with everything else. Also, in the Google Voice app there is a setting to show the voicemails for your carrier number in the dialer app.
Google Voice lets you check your carrier voicemail? Didn't know. But I would need the old out if date Google Voice app, right?

you have to sign up for Google voice lite, then do a conditional forwarding.

At the very least, it keeps you from getting those annoying notifications. Without root that's the best I can hope for.
just side loaded the apk, did anyone else get an update almost right away and did you let it up date?
