Here it is.Show us a screenshot of the device's Settings>Storage menu.
Take your SD card , see if it recognize your internal storageTried the cable that came with it. Same thing!!
I suspect that you formatted the card as Internal Storage, and that might be confusing the file explorer. Notice that in Windows Explorer, it says 39.8 GB of 58.2 GB on the SD card used, but in the phone's storage menu, it says 17.37 GB of 58.2 GB used on the SD card. If you add together the space used on both Internal Storage and SD card, it's close to the 39.8 GB reported in Windows Explorer (but not quite the same).
If you open the SD card in Windows Explorer, can you find what you're looking for?
Be aware that some manufacturers don't implement Adoptable Storage well, which might lead to odd glitches like this.
What do you mean by connecting it to your computer? Did you remove the card and insert it into the computer? Or did you connect the phone via USB and copy the music and photos that way? A card that's formatted as Internal Storage is encrypted to that phone, so you wouldn't have been able to remove the card and insert it into another device to be read.
Reformat that SD card back to portable storageI connected my phone with the usb cable and copied the files to it.
I took out the sd card and tried to take a screenshot but it says not enough storage.
It says: "to use the apps photos, etc on sd card reinsert it. Says I can choose to forget this device if not available. If you choose to forget all the data the device the device will be lost forever. you can reinstall the apps later, but their datea stored on this device will be lost." At the bottom it says in red "forget".

It's possibleBut before doing this, you'd need to look for a "Migrate Data to Phone" option in the Storage menu -- otherwise, you could lose a lot of that data.
It should be in settings of interenal storagePlease forgive me I'm not real tech savy. How do I do that? In the computer or the phone? I put the sd card in the card reader but it wants me to format it. Will I lose the pictures that I have taken recently?
It's been awhile since I've done this but I remember it being done on the phone , but make back up of photos and other important stuff just in case .When I reformat it do I do it on the computer or the phone? I can put the sd card back in the phone and copy the latest pictures to my computer before doing all my music is already on my computer so I can reinstall that later.
That's greatI backed up the new pics to my computer. I'll reinstall them and music later. I did the portable storage reformat and it worked. Thanks for all your help. Always something new to learn!! View attachment 315364
