I was wondering if Virgin has a server I could send to so I can use my pop3 account. I don't have internet access and I wanted to set up my pop3 account in my phone but it won't let me unless I can set up the smtp. My account provider only supplies the in not the out going.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[Solved]
I went into google mail and messed with the settings. I can no send and recived from my pop3 account through Gmail, so the gmail app on my phone now gets my email. I just had to add a pop3 account to gmail and set up my settings properly to send from gmail with out it resetting my out going mail to my gmail address.

Re: VM smtp for sending email?

if your using a major provider like Yahoo mail or something, try looking in the Market.

Yahoo mail blocks their pop3 stuff unless you actually go change the settings inside your account on a PC, or if you use their official email app everything works fine.

I don't know about other providers, but its worth a try looking for their app first.

you can also create a shortcut to the website that will open the browser to the site your going to. not pretty but gets the job done for stuff like this

My pop3 account is from my website. I used to use charter's smtp but I never could from my phone. I imagine that I could on wifi that is provided by charter but I don't have any ISP right now. Just the phone.
