Voice Actions on 2.2?

I guess I'm just confused, but I thought Google's Voice Actions were only available on 2.2 or higher: Voice Actions for Android

It sounds like people are using it on the Fascinate that has 2.1.

Are you not able to use the Send text, email... features of Google Voice Actions?

If you've rooted, removed Bing, and installed the EnhancedGoogleSearchProvider.apk, you'll get some of the functions built into long pressing the search button on your phone. Internet search and maps/navigation (with google maps also installed) will work by voice search but you still cannot do the other functions like place calls, text, or listen to music from it.
