Any way to tweak it? If I say call somebody, I want it to search my contacts and call that person. It does that automatically for some people and for others it doesn't.

For example, if I say "call Larry Page" it always gives me two options: either call Larry Page or search Google for "call Larry Page" and I have to select which option I want. Very annoying.

But if I say "call Sergey Brin" it calls him every time without giving me the search Google option. This is what I like.

I'd rather not use a 3rd party app because the Voice Actions microphone button is at the top of every homescreen and doesn't take up any space another app can go.

The best thing to do would be to say "Call Sergey Brin" and then when it calls him without a glitch, ask him what's up. I assure you that he knows better than any of us.

people contacts have a spot for phonetic nicknames, I haven't tried it yet, but I think this is what it's for.

What if you have more than one "Larry" in your contacts? I'm finding that VA only looks at first names and will only find one ... Am I missing something?

I have this same issue. When I try to text someone, I say "Text Francine Mobile Let's Go" and the to field will be blank while the message will say "Francine Mobile Let's Go." However, when I say Mary instead of Francine, it texts Mary "Let's Go." I have already set Francine's name to her full name and her "Nickname" in contacts as "Francine." Also, if I say "Call Francine" it will call Francine's Flower Shop nearby. Any ideas?

If I may jump onto this thread, when I use the "listen to" command to play music, it just takes me to the song in the music app but never plays the song directly, which requires me to click the song. Is that how its supposed to work? Shouldnt it play songs directly without me having to use my hands?

I'm noticing that if a contact has more than one number, it's more difficult to get voice actions to work properly. This page should help Voice Actions for Android

The contact I tried that called automatically and the contact that gave me two options both have only one number.

If I say "call Don" or "call Don mobile" it gives me two options.

But if I say "call Jeremy" it calls him every time.

I think you might need contacts to be synced under accounts for the voice actions to work properly. I don't have mine syncing so I can have nicer contact pictures and I can't get any voice actions with people to work.
