voice and data simultaneously? yes or no?

does the phone allow voice calls and data services simultaneously?? I thought that was what Verizon android trumped over Iphone.... I noticed that I cannot do both. not sure if this is normal.,..eg. talk on the phone, the blue bars go gray and no data. End call, data comes back.

I can do Wifi+data or 4g +data . Not 3g+data.
Also after ending a call, the 3g data takes a really long time to return.

3G returns for me instantly after a call.

On the HTC Rezound and Thunderbolt, you can talk and surf at the same time on 3G. Its a radio design HTC chose.

It's wifi +voice, 4G +voice and no 3G +voice. Data is 4G and 3G.

thanks for the responses...ok tx... So by design, no 3g and voice. that's fine.

I think what's happened is that I tried to get on the web while on a cal(network set on CDMA), it didn't work and then after ending the call, the data wouldn't come back, had to switch to airplane mode and then back on. When I stay on a call w/o trying the data and hangup, the 3g comes right back.

I've seen it in some advertising, specifically on Amazon. But they don't say how ie: 4G/LTE

I was just talking to my dad and I have 4G as well...

By Radio design:

voice, 1xRTT, and EVDO are usually the same radio on the phone (HTC does something weird where its different)
Wifi is a separate radio
LTE is a separate radio

That is because of how HTC chose to design tbolt. Separate antennas basically for talk and data.

That is not how Samsung and Google chose to design the Nexus. Given how thin the phone is, it probably would have required the phone be thicker.

In 4G you can. All calls are cdma and the data is 4G. Tbolt has an extra 1x radio that takes calls while data is 3G/4G
