voice announcement of texts stopped working.

I have had a voice announcement of who was texting me in lieu of a normal alert from the time I originally set my phone up. Now since the last update I just get a standard alert. How do I get the voice back?
By the way... It's a Verizon if that makes any difference.

Same with my Google maps, NO VOICE when I go to navigation.

There was a spot under either Alerts or Sound where you could turn on "Announce". At least I think that is what it said, I haven't had to look for it since I got the phone last year.
