Voice command listening

is there a way to toggle the phone from listening to commands? it keeps activating several times a day when it hears a high instrumental note: piano, violin and even voice. it's very annoying when you have several music classes a day. not to mention the instrumentals on tv and what not. needless to say it's very annoying when it activates in class especially since it is quite loud and is unaffected by muting the sound.

You can turn it on/off in settings, but the Moto troubleshooting advice is to retrain it.

my voice is nothing like a piano, but it never fails to activate on piano notes.

Were any instruments or music playing when you trained it? If so, it probably recorded those sounds in addition to your voice. If not, other than retraining or disabling, I don't have any ideas.

I agree with trying to retrain it first. I think I've seen mine falsely activate once since I've owned it (since 2 weeks after launch).

I too have voice command problems. The voice command turns on at inappropriate times. The biggest problem is that when it does so it makes a loud noise, even though I have the phone on silent. How do I get the phone to not make noise when it's set to silent?

Have you retrained it yet to try to reduce the false activations? I'm not sure about turning off the sounds for Google Now / voice commands. I think they assume that if you can make noise (activate it and give voice commands), then it shouldn't be a problem for it to make some bloop noises, etc. So the main problem is when it falsely activates. I think I've only seen mine falsely activate like twice, but I can easily believe that certain environments are more prone to making it happen. Still, step 1 is retraining in the right quiet environment.
