Voice/data plans for Gear S owned outright...

Everyone attending the Samsung Developers' Conference last week in SFO got a nice present: A Samsung Gear S, set up for AT&T.

So if one walks into an AT&T store, what are the options for getting voice and data service for a device that one owns already? Yes, aspects of this have been discussed in OP posts, but almost everyone bought their Gear S at the store.

I don't have any service with AT&T at present.

To AT&T, it is just another phone line. So, if you have no family shared plan, you need spent $30+/mo for a plan just you would spent on another phone. Whether or not you owned it doesn't matter. If you don't own the phone/watch out right, you'd sign a contract to pay extra.
