Voice Dial - how to use Default phone numbers

I've gone through all my starred contacts, most of whom have more than one contact number, and set the "default" number for each one. However, if I use the Okay Google voice command to call or text one of those contacts, it still asks me at which number every single time. Is there a way to make it use the default number, or to tell it to always use the same number after it makes me choose the first time?

Nope, not that I am aware of.

However, you can say,

"OK Google ... call John Smith on mobile"
"OK Google ... call Mom on home"
and so on

Thanks! Too bad it ignores the default numbers, but good to know there's a workaround.
