Voice mail from unknown number

In the short time I have had this Lenovo A815 phone running android, when I pull the home page down, I see that there is a "new voicemail" from [number removed by moderator]. I have no idea who it is, but after googling, I see it is one of those numbers that should not be listened to or followed through. So how do I stop it?.

I have installed an android app called "Should I answer?", but have no idea what I should do now with the app, could someone advise please? if not, maybe there is another course of easy action.

Have you listened to it? In order for it to go away you have to listen to the whole thing then listen for the prompts at the end. The prompts should tell you what number to press to delete it.

Took your advice and listened. It was the "you have four messages received, to listen to them etc.. The first message played was no sound/voice, I let it run for about 20 secs then hung up. So what the other three are I don't know. What I do know is that part of my SIM only deal with Life Mobile (1500 mins, unlimited texts, 1gb data for £6 per month), such messages need to be paid for. I will speak to Life and have voicemail stopped, unless you can tell me how to disable it please.

As an aside, how do I delete them without listening to them, irrespective of who they are from. It could be my calls from wife's phone to mine, whilst familiarising myself with it.
