Voice Mail: Probably a dumb question

I use the voice mail widget on the home screen to pick up messages. Yesterday it gave me a message for the first time that there was an error and that I would have to use the "phone" email and call in for my messages.

What the heck have I been using? I assumed the widget was just speed dialing the Sprint voice mail number for me?

No, you were using the visual voicemail widget that would show you when you have a new visual voicemail. Try dragging it off the screen and then replacing it to see if it fixes it.
