Voice match help Android 9

[Android Central Question]

I updated my A6 to android 9 the other day and since then my Google assistant isn't working properly. I can no longer access it with the voice match.

I have checked all of the permissions, deactivated them, reactivated them to no avail.

When I turn on voice match, it tells me that the voice match is setup and I'm all set, it then turns the switch back off. This is getting infuriating.

Any help is appreciated.
