A friend of mine - a tech blogger & journalist - mentioned that verizon was working on or actually testing a technology called VoRA, for voice over Rev A (CDMA EVDO Rev A). I'd never heard of it before in any capacity at all. Unlike other technologies such as suggestions on how to carry voice on LTE, I can find absolutely no details on this, or even anything that suggests it is anything more than rumor or mythology. Everything I've found on the topic when traced back comes from a single unnamed source mentioned in a bgr article and no suggestions on how it might work.

So, have you guys heard anything? What is it and how does it work, or is the whole story BS? (not that I'm suggesting that tech journalists don't know what they're talking about, but they do sometimes write about things they seem to know nothing about).

Finally simultaneous voice and data over 3G for CDMA huh? That will be nice simply to stop GSM carriers from lording it over CDMA's head.

I don't know if its anything more than a rumor, but I can't imagine verizon would want a massive influx of phones or others jumping from other carriers while being trapped with limited voice capacity
