voice recording not working

my note 5 won't record when I try to record something. it's not showing any sound waves same thing when I try to record a video no sound too same with my whatsapp too . my other apps that have voice recording features won't record as well .

Welcome to Android Central! If you call someone, can they hear you ok? What if you turn on speakerphone? If they can hear you when speakerphone is off, but they can't hear you when speakerphone is on, then your secondary mic (the one at the top of the phone) is either blocked or faulty. Inspect it carefully and see if it's clogged by lint or something else. If it looks clear, then you may have to bring it to a repair shop.
