AT&T Galaxy S8 Voice to Text using bluetooth

Hey all, got rid of the note 5 and got the S8 a couple of days ago and while using the stock texting app I cannot for the life of me use my bluetooth headset to use the voice to texting feature.

Now oddly enough if I am on a phone call it works fine, press the mic button and types what I am saying but if I am not on a phone call it only wants to use the internal phone mic. Any idea's or adjustments I could make?

I drive a semi so this feature is kind of important lol.

Thats strange. I tested this in my car and it works just fine with my cars bluetooth. Wonder if its something within your headset?

I hope not, These headsets made by Blue Parrot are the only ones that function well with the noise in a semi truck. I'm at a loss.
