Voice to text

I went to use voice to text and nothing happened. I hit the mic icon, the prompt said speak now so I spoke. It didn't translate. Is there now a setting to turn this on or something?

Are you using a specific app or just tapping on the microphone in the search bar?

Everything seems to work as usual with mine. I have noticed that from time to time if I have spotty data or maybe google is just having a bad day the voice transcription won't work for a little while. You might just need to try again later.

I'm using the mic on the stock keyboard in stock messaging. Idk what the deal is.

My stock Samsung keyboard doesn't have voice search. The my swype keyboard and googles voice input keyboard both work fine on my Note 5. Maybe try another keyboard?
