Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime, carrier is Cricket. I had auto-update turned on so I don't know if this was update-related; I tried doing a Delete Update on the Google app and turning off the "hello google" search option as someone suggested back in the thread somewhere, but it didn't help. Started happening last night.
Nope. Wouldn't explain why multiple devices on multiple versions of Android are all having the same problem at the same time.

This is new to me too as of 2 days ago. 3/7/2017 and i have a moto g4 running android 6.0.1 no updates missing and i can't make it stop repeating text. What I THINK I DO see it doing (that others have not mentioned)is that the sentences DIFFER SLIGHTLY from one another. Example: I'm sending this to doctor poler tomorrow and I get:

Just talked to T-Mobile. They were informed about 4 hours ago that Google Voice Services are all messed up. They are predicting at least 72 hours before resolution.
AWS has been having lots of problems lately too. They are probably all getting beaten down by black hats...

Happening on my Nexus 6P as of tonight. Multiple translations of the same word or phrase are output to the text window.
This fixed it. Work around at least until root cause is fixed. Appears to be related to Google online (internet based) voice translation.
Turn off wifi
Turn off celular data.
Voice translation is slower but no multiple output of the word or phrase. Probably slower because the phone is slower at crunching the voice translation than servers out on the internet.
Ensure offline speech recognition is installed.
Google app > settings > voice > offline speech recognition. "Installed" tab should say "English (US)" or similar.

This started happening to me today also, microphone on my messaging made all my words/sentences repeat about 5 times. I un/reinstalled and it has not fixed it. WTHey? I see someone just posted a comment on #98 that apparently they are working on it. I hope so, I'm old, I can't type on my little ol' Moto's keyboard.

So your solution is to turn OFF your cellular and WiFi connections?? Pretty sure that's not a suitable "fix" . But it DOES suggest that the problem isn't with the softwware on our phones, but maybe with the translation service on their servers??
