Hey all, so far loving my G4 and have been getting great battery life due to the forums. I recently noticed however that my Voicemail app has been running in the background and has been my top battery drainer. Have had my phone for a couple weeks and this only happened for last few days. Is this normal? Using Sprint G4

I'm on Sprint as well and just had this start happening to me as well in the last few days. I'm wondering if it took an update in the last few days in the background and this is the result. I'm still trying to troubleshoot.

Thanks @tourbound. At least it's not me and I'm not going crazy :) Also, is there a way to get notifications on a thread reply? I can't for the life of me figure it out and have to keep jumping into threads to see if any responses.

I have all notifications turned on and the only notification I get is an email when someone starts a new thread. I don't get anything else. Pretty frustrating sometimes.

I did the uninstall updates for the voicemail app but it's the same version so there hasn't been an update to the app.

I gave up playing with the voicemail app and just disabled it. I went back to Google Voice integration.

Seems to be limited to Sprint devices only. Noted reports in the note 4 forum as well

I started a thread about this in the Note 4 forum, so the problem doesn't seem to be device dependent.

I'm also on Sprint and I just noticed the issue recently. Voicemail has become my top battery drainer and I haven't received a voicemail or even opened the voicemail app in days.

Interesting. I wonder what they could have done to it. Maybe they did something on the back end and its checking for messages all the time now?

Not device specific. It's happening to lots of people ONLY on Sprint. Check out this Reddit forum on the issue. It won't let me post the link bc I just signed up for this forum. Just add www to the begging of this.....reddit.com/r/GalaxyS6/comments/3p4tbb/voicemail_battery_drain/

No sign of Voicemail using the battery for the past two days. The issue seems to have gone away on its own.

I hope that it doesn't happen again and I wish that I knew what caused it.

I was just going to post an update today as well. Last two days the voicemail app running rogue is nowhere to be seen. Must of been something on Sprint's end but glad the issue was fixed fairly promptly!
