My wife's phone shows that there is a voicemail. I see the envelope with the tape symbol in the top left of the screen. When I swipe down, it shows that there is a new voicemail under the notification section. When I click to check the voicemail, the voice says that there are no new messages.

I have turned the phone off and then back on. I have even pulled the battery. The indicator is still there saying that there is a voicemail.

What should I do? Seems odd....

TIA

Sounds like a trivial question but, I assume you have also tried hitting the "clear" button in the notification drop down menu? If a soft reset/battery pull (eugh I hate using that term) haven't fixed it, you may have to look into a factory reset or give it a few days and see if it goes away on it's own.

When I had my original Droid before I started using Google Voice I had that icon "stick" on me once, it eventually went away after a couple days on it's own.

clear doesn't help. I'll wait a few days. Hopefully I'll get an answer here and I won't have to try the ATT store

I had this happen before. I had to go into the dialer to access my vm then I went through and deleted a couple old VM's after doing this it cleared the notification on my phone

I had this exact problem on my old Tilt 2. It would go away eventually, but once I got another VM, it would come back for another week or so.

I would talk to ATT about this one as I do not believe it is a phone issue.

i don't believe that there are any old VM's there. I would think it would say something like "1 new message, 2 old message". Nothing like that. just says "no messages" (IIRC)

somehow today it has corrected itself.

thanks everyone for the help! I guess time does heal all...

I am having this same issue! :(

Its been showing the voicemail icon, but there are none. I even went through and deleted all the old messages (there were only 2 from a few days prior).

Any other tips?

Apparently posting in this thread is the cure. This morning my VM indicator was gone. Go figure!

It was there for 5 days, but now it is gone.

I had the same problem a few days ago, I had someone call me and leave a VM, the notification went away after i erased the new message
