Not sure if I missed this or anyone else is having this problem, but according to Verizon. The latest upgrade (so parts a downgrade) changed this. You can no longer set or adjust the amount of rings before a call goes into voicemail. My phone was set on 4 rings. I figure if I can?t get it by then, its ok.

I looked for the setting

Menu?Settings?Call?Voicemail settings

It?s blank, there are no more settings.

I called Verizon. They have changed everyone?s setting to ring for 30 seconds prior to going into voicemail.

Is it me or is that crazy.

By the way I am not rooted. Please don?t tell me to root. I have enough issues with electronics already. Now give me a motor and I will root it! Cam, carb, exhaust, etc!!!

30 seconds has been the standard default I believe (about 6 rings, 5sec/ring). To be honest, I didn't even realize you COULD change it before.

Since I've been using this default setting for years now, no, I don't think 30 seconds is "crazy". I will say though that if they previously allowed users to change it, I'm not sure why you'd take that away...

I'm not even sure if rooting would help with this one. A lot of the VM settings are controlled at the account level.

I've been with VZW for about 10 years (ever since they became Verizon Wireless) and I have never known this to be an option. It does come up in newsgroups all the time. But the answer is always the same. It can't be done (or, they won't).

'Course, I used to say that about them never passing name info with CallerID, but after 10 years they finally started doing that. I guess you never know. :)
