Voices Sound Like Bubbles

This issue just started about a week ago. When I call someone the voice sounds fine. After a minute or two it sounds like Lloyd Bridges. Some of you may be one enough to remember him. It sounds like they are gargling and talking at the same time. They say my voice sounds the same and the we get disconnected. It happens with my wife's iPhone 6 but also other phones.
Any ideas?

Sounds like it might be an issue with your carrier's network -- have you spoken with them about it?

I'll have to get in touch with Verizon. It's not constant but I don't like it.
Lloyd Bridges was in a show back in the early 60s called Sea Hunt. He was a submarine captain. The good old days of black and white TV.
