VoLTE?

It was the same on VZW before VoLTE. When VZW went to 4G, you could use both voice and data at the same time. voice over LTE is just a newer voice service that gives you HD clarity. VoLTE calling has nothing to do with simultaneous data also capabilities.
That's only for VZW and Sprint. On TMO and ATT, been able to do that since long before VoLTE.

I have TMO through Ting, an MVNO that offers TMO and Sprint. I followed the article and my menu looks just like theirs. I have a toggle to turn on or off, VoLTE.

How do you know its working? Do you get a notification of volte in the call?

TMO puts an "HD Voice" icon up during the call.

Again, TMO phones--no option to turn it on or off, it just is. If it's not available, fine; if it is available, fine. If it is available and in use, you'll see "HD Voice" in the call.

Actually it was HD voice that provided that feature unless the Verizon site is wrong

actually, take a look:

3. What is simultaneous voice and 4G LTE data?

Simultaneous voice and 4G LTE data allows customers connected to Verizon's 4G LTE network to surf the web, continue a download, use an application, or use a feature like Mobile Hotspot while talking on a call.

So it was the existence of 4G LTE data that allowed data to be used at the same time a voice call was in play.

Prior to 4G LTE data, it was either a voice call OR data--but not both at the same time.

My phone is unlocked and unbranded. I do not get the HD voice icon, but I can still hear the difference.

I do wish my Tmobile S10 version has the option to toggle it off. I want to see if the phone calling and texting function still works when outside of data range.

That was the one thing that Sprint had which was nice.

Every carrier does their own thing unfortunately
