I don't think I've seen this mentioned - but has anyone had their volume just suddenly turn down to like 20% when listening to music - whether through the speakers or through your headset? At first I thought it was my bluetooth headset, but then it happened when I was listening through the speakers too. My volume would be maybe at 70 or 80% and then just all of a sudden, it'll drop to about 1/3 of that volume and I'd have to turn the volume back up. Not sure what triggers it - I can't seem to figure it out.

I thought maybe it was my audio player, but it has happened to me using Jet Audio and Spotify... I can't recall if it happened when I am using PowerAmp. I figure it's not an app issue.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or is it something I'm doing.

Hey,

Search for volume limit in the settings screen. There is a setting to keep this below a certain point.

You can set this to off.

Android has always been wonky ... this use to happen on my HTC 10... one would think it would keep you from getting too loud, but instead it would wait and then suddenly realize it should do something.

I still think it warns you when you are setting it to be too loud, but on my Note 9 it has not dropped it down as you describe.
