volume buttons and active button won't work

So I was using my volume button and active key just fine a few hours ago. No drops or anything. Just put my phone in my coat pocket with my portable charger. Maybe the coat zapped it and shorted the phone? I have about 20 days left until warranty with ATT expires. Will they cover this?

I would expect them to, go to a corporate store and raise hell.
