Volume increments on G4 plus

Hi, the volume increments are too course for me and I use my phone to listen to music a lot. Is there anyway to gain finer control of the volume slider without rooting ?

I had some success with Fine Volume control 2 but its unpreditable and clunky. Would love to solve this as its the only thing bugging me after switching from an iPhone.
