Android Central Question

Hi, my s9 has just suddenly started playing up, when people call it is really hard to hear them, the volume is turned up to max. Tried restarting it still no different. Should I send it off to the insurance company? Thanks

Before you file a claim, clear the cache partition and reboot. If you have a case, make sure it's not covering either speaker. Make sure that it's not jammed with lint.
If still low, restart in safe mode. If now the volume is low warranty time. If it got its loudness back, it's from an app you installed. Good luck!

Ok update :
I decided to look at my speaker on the top of the phone which is the receiver with magnify glass and flash light, couldn't see with my eyes but must had junk build up there blocking the tiny holes , so used a toothbrush and cleaned it out and everything fine again...canceled my appointment

A gentle electronics hand vacuum with its tiny attachments I find works best for regular cleaning.

mine is pretty good. I'm not great with hearing either so I need a louder phone. when I had my z30 that phone was awesome in every way except on the earpiece volume. it was way too low

Hello Mate,

this might be a little late, I have literally just had this problem and i have manage to fix it this, so this might sound a little ghetto but bare with me here, get some bluetac and then apply it the speaker at the top of the phone hold it for 10 seconds then remove keep doing for about three times and trust me you will see a massive difference.

thank me later

cheers

Az
