volume question since 2.2

on my volume, being a pastor, I need it on vibe or off...I used to could keep pressing side bar till an x appeared and all was silenced..now it only goes as low as vibe...Im sure its me---but what am I not doing right?

I need to be on silent but under 2.2 i can't --so far..

The short answer is that they screwed up vibe/silent under 2.2.

You can pick the way vibe and silent work under
Menu->Settings->Sound->Vibrate

but none of the options give you the functionality of 2.1.

I was wondering if I had done something funky on my phone since the update since it kept vibrating on its own. good/sad to know it wasn't just me
