VPN will not stay on

Have a VPN configured an runs perfectly using the OEM HTC installed VPN app which is under
1) Settings
2) More
3) VPN

I can not get it to stay on.connected to it 24/7 an have to keep connecting it again by going to the VPN settings an selecting the VPN I have configured an tell it to connect.

I called HTC an got to the escalation/upper level support an they have no clue since they are not trained on how to use VPN or have one set up to try/test

Which VPN service are you using? I had IPVanish and I set the VPN but I found using the IPVanish App is much easier. I have since changed to Astrill and I do not even bother to set the VPN settings. I just use the App that that works well.

What is the VPN server? Asus RT-N53 wireless router

and you're mentioning OEM HTC? Yes...FYI HTC has a VPN program installed. \

What does this mean? To find it got to "settings" , "more" , "VPN"

HTC smart phone? Yes

What model? M8

What OS? Android Version 4.4.4

What version number? PRI Version? 2.87 002

Has this worked before? Yes

Does this work on other devices connecting to the server? Yes
