My girlfriend just got the Photon Q and she keeps getting various issues similar to "VSNCP Error 8:Admin Prohibited" showing up in her notification bar, and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of answers out there, is anyone getting this error or something similar also??? Or even better if you know what is causing this that'd be amazing!!!

My wife and I get the same error, but error 5, not 8. It doesn't seem to affect the operation, but is annoying. You can swipe it off the notification bar though.

It seems to be related to the MMS bug. After I called to have that fixed these error notifications stopped too.

What MMS bug? Do you remember the fix they had you do?

i suspect you changed your connection from cdma/4g to just CDMA when you were on the phone with sprint....

No, one of the first things I did with my phone was to set it to CDMA only since LTE is not in my area and probably won't be for the life of this phone. I was getting this error (#5) after doing that but have not had it since I had Sprint apply the MMS fix to my account (and provide the pass code so that I could apply it to my phone).

VSNCP Registration Error 8 (could be 5 or 3 also). Motorola stating that the 3 error is in regards to a software error with MMS picture messaging.
1. In dial pad, type the ##3282# and “View” the data profile.
2. Check for ANY extra information after the .com for the data profile. Anything extra such as an extra .com needs to be removed. Should be just the “username@sprintpcs.com” - Call Sprint and they can walk you through removing the extra information through the edit option.
3. Once you update your user name power your phone off and on.
4. Go in and check your data profile again to ensure that it reads properly .
5. Complete an update profile and then check the NAI on the phone again.

I spoke with a Sprint Rep and the software update look like it was to fix the VSNCP Registration ERROR that every one is getting.. the rep said that the software update should have fix that error
