how about a look under the battery cover along with the boot animation of the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon? You?ll be pleased to know that the boot animation is exactly the same as the one you have seen on the GSM version of the phone. There may be two Verizon apps pre-loaded on the phone, but the rest of it appears to be a completely stock experience. Enjoy.

Anyone notice how much faster the VZW version seemed? On top of that, every GSM video I've seen has been around 40 seconds for boot time. He got 28. Good lord I want this phone.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that saw this too. It was one of the first things I noticed. It seemed....very snappy...more so than the GSM videos I've seen. I'm not sure why or how...I can't imagine LTE having an influence on the actually quickness of scrolling around within ICS. Maybe it's a resource thing? If it is, I would think LTE would be more demanding in the sense of resources. Is it possible that the 32GB internal storage has an affect on speed maybe? Improved read/write speeds over the 16GB GSM version?

I only bring that up because, similar things are observed with Solid State Drives. I have a 30GB SSD drive with some nice read/write speeds, but the larger versions of my same model like the 120GB version, have much more cache...faster read and write speeds. Maybe something similar is going on with the LTE version of the phone.

It will be interesting to see a comparison in benchmarks with the GSM vs. LTE.

Meh, wishful thinking probably, but if this is what's coming our way (soon), snappier speed and all, then I'll be more than happy, even though the wait has been grueling thus far.

EDIT: Also I noticed that the phone is on the new 4.0.2 version. Maybe this update brought on some improved speeds and HW acceleration? If so, then awesome, as that is the first of many updates and improvements to come throughout the life of the Galaxy Nexus. The Galaxy Nexus out right now, will pale in comparison to the Galaxy Nexus a year from now.

If that's how fast I can expect my Verizon Galaxy Nexus to perform, plus it has LTE? Absolutely amazing. And yeah, the extra storage could have something to do with it. Nice to see it has that live wallpaper, too. This is the only phone ill run a live wallpaper on because that screen is too gorgeous not to.

So I saw something about a micro-sim does that mean I have to get a new sim? I have a droid charge right now I can't pop out my sim from this phone and put it into the gnex?

That's a interesting theory and you may be right. I look forward to comparing the two.

The early GSM reviews were probably on a beta ICS version. The most recent reviews have been snappy.

This is also the first video we've seen of a GNex running 4.0.2 so that should be taken into account.

I didn't want to start a thread because I was afraid it would be removed (due to it being about the GSM version). I just got the GSM version today and all I can say is, forget the reviews and try this phone for yourself (when it come out on Vzw). This thing is awesome and, everything I hoped for.
