VZW Lollipop!

Had anyone noticed the home screen will not auto rotate after the update. Mine will not and I can't seem to find any setting to make it. I do have auto rotate selected and it works for every other screen, just not the home screen. Help!

Not sure about the lock screen widgets.. I still have the weather widget and the app launch buttons on mine.

As for the Q slide launcher, it is now an option with the "bottom buttons". You can go into the button settings and add a button for it.

As with all updates, it is best to do a factory reset prior to or after the update to make the most of it. Also, you should give your phone at least three days to "settle in" before drawing any conclusions on battery life.

Noticed that there is a new option for Back button light in notifications. Blinks the LED light on the power button. Damn thing is bright.... very bright. Thought I was in the midst of a thunder storm this morning.

Also, quiet time is now gone... Priority Mode has taken its place which seems to do the same thing.

Thanks so much for reporting in. Seems like the Q slide thing will make the bottom button area a bit crowded; I already use a 4-button version.

Did you notice whether Daydream is still an option? I use my phone as my bedside clock at night, and the combination of Quiet Time and Daydream has been perfect for me, personally.

Yes the stock weather widget and that is it I liked the fact you could use the lock screen Widgets when playing music with google music or power player and control it with the screen locked.

Agreed, I find it very useful that I can control my music player from my lock screen. Would be a shame to see this go. And, just to clarify, are you saying that the other widget screens when you swipe left or right from the lock screen are no longer available? I have the weather widget on my lock screen, but use the other widget screens frequently.

Thanks to you both for any info.

24hrs in and I'm thrilled.

Battery life does not seem significantly different (judging by just one charge on 39A), but the phone runs significantly faster. Not a hint of stutter or lag, the UI just flows and apps seem to load quicker. I like the more stock look...some of that LG skin previous was pretty amateur.

No charging anomalies to report.

A 60sec test of Foxfi seemed fine, after allowing it to self-install a security certificate & VPN.

Thanks for the reply.

Woke up this morning to the message that my phone wants to update. I was hoping it would let me ignore the upgrade until I was ready, but it's not looking like that will be an option. Deferred until later today; hoping I can at least continue to defer until I'm satisfied that the issues people are reporting have been resolved. Backing up now, just to be safe.

Missing quick memo shortcut by pulling up from the bottom of the screen. I used that often.

Edit: I see it is in the notifications bar.. An extra step. Probably due to lollipop limitations.

One thing I've noticed, the notification light sometimes continues to blink even after I've cleared all the notifications. I haven't done a FDR since the Lollipop update.

Update went smooth, but had the same Google Play issues. But Lollipop has been horrendous so far. Battery life went from good to terrible. I don't know if I can even get an hour and a half if I do anything on it. It is also insanely laggy. Lag has been far worse, at times freezing. I was planning on just copying my music and such to my PC a decent doing a factory reset, but I can't get it to connect to a PC long enough it keels going into install mode instead of media share. I got a few things saved then no matter what I did, the PC saw it as an installer. I am 100% stock

I downloaded the update yesterday and did the following steps:
- Backed up old Apps/Media and Data using MyBackupPro
- Performed a FDR (yes, I did it pre-upgrade)
- Performed the upgrade
- Performed another FDR right after upgrade (maybe overkill, but who knows)
- Restored all applications and data from Google first
- Restored Apps/Media and Data (Pics, SMS all that) from my MyBackupPro backup
- Used All In One Toolbox app Boot Speedup Tool and shut off everything except the stuff I need at startup (It looked like just about everything was starting at boot time)

After all this, I noticed that my battery was draining quite rapidly (10 - 15% an hour on standby)
I did notice that it seemed the default screen brightness I was used to on KK (50%) was a bit brighter so I knocked it down to 40% (no auto adjust)

I let my phone basically die and charged it overnight on the QI charger.

This morninig I noticed I went through 8% of the battery pretty quickly and saw that Google Services was using most of the battery so far. I turned location services to "Low Battery Use" and then just used it like I normally do (emails, GOOD for work, Facebook, Maps to check traffic.)

I have been on Battery for 7h 13 min.
I have 1h 28m 57s of screen time.
I have 75% battery left.
I have 21h 43min estimated time remaining.

These seem to be on par with what I was seeing from KK.

Just FYI. I think the FDR is the key here. Maybe doing it once before and once after the install maybe helped ensure there was no crap floating around.

I have seen no significant downside other than I wished I would not have felt forced to update. I missed a defer notification somewhere and it downloaded the first update. It did not install it but was nagging me every 3-5 miuntes and I couldn't take it.

Good Luck All!

I did a factory reset on my phone about a week before I got the update so my phone was already running great with no issues.

I downloaded the upgrade Thursday night so going on 2 days with it. I guess I'm lucky because I have had no problems with battery (either draining fast or charging slow) or GPS etc... But have never had any of those problems since I got my phone (release day).

Only hiccups I have had is Instagram and Crossy Road crashing a couple times. Oh even FoxFi has worked great.

I seem to have sorted my issues. I cleared cache a few times and I followed the advice to set location to battery saving. Lag is mostly gone and battery life, while a tad worse than before, is much better.

I installed the update on my G2 yesterday. Still exploring and like what I've seen so far. It seems quicker, smoother. I've noticed some fixes in the messaging app that have really bugged me for a long time. But I cannot believe they seemed to have missed the home screen auto-rotate bug - I cannot get it to rotate from portrait to landscape. All apps rotate just fine, but not the home screen. How can they miss something so obvious as that? Has anyone found a fix?

I did a system wipe in order to get the upgrade. I would like to try ART but cannot find Developer Options under Settings with Lollipop. Please remind me how to get it back or did Lollipop do away with Developer Options?

The download seems to work fine but my internet is like dial up now. Does anyone have a fix?

In same place as before L on mine. Settings, System, Dev options.

My wife loves the update aside from one nagging issue. She doesn't like the new buttons on the bottom...the home, back, app history, etc. I know you can add functions, but is there any way to change the appearance to something similar to kk?
