vzw tech support

Idk the guy saying you can preorder but didn't know the size sounds like bs to me. You van say you have a great post past but Idk about all this. Until its on Verizon or something ones out actually stating you can preorder then ill believe it.

Well hopefully it gets released, or at the very least, announced officially on the 17th. Either way, the wait will soon be over (I hope).

Has anyone attempted a preorder through telesales recently? Thinking about giving it a whirl.

BULLSH!T Name the stores location? I don't buy it. Anyone else in this forum first words out of their mouth would be your second post in this thread. Not only that, it would be spread all over the place like a Bukaake facial. There's is no way in he!! they'd open up preorders from walk in traffic without rolling out an email of upcoming info. to the people who signed up for the mailing list online. Before making the official launch announcement. Seriously, they couldn't do it for the simple fact that the employees can't expedite the shipping order w/ incomplete info. Pre orders don't ship in house so that info. is a requisite. Anyhow, I doubt a retail salesperson would refer to it as the Prime. It was a pre production codename. Only place it popped up was about a month ago in their cellebrite system, for a brief period.

I've been up for 5 minutes and the first thing I see is a post about Bukaake facials prefaced with the word Bullsh!t in gigantic bold font. Can you guys chill out at least until I've had lunch?

So preach you got anything to back the claim up with? Not sure if you got anymore info or anything.

I'm curious if this was something the sales guy was doing just for Preach or are they doing it for anyone who asks. I do know that the there is a rep at a store near me in Tampa, Fl that told me that once its in their system with a price that I could pre-order with him and I would be put on a list to get one reserved for their first shipment. My sis did this at the same store for the iphone. He told me that if you pay the entire amount that you will be at the top of the pre-order list. I guess he said this because some people just put a minimum amount down and decide later they don't want that particular device. I'm going to run by the local Verizon store today and see if I can preorder....if I can I will let anyone on here know the stores info if you want it.

All I wanted to do is share what was told and shown to me while I was in the Verizon Store. I have no reason to lie about it it is just a phone no more and no less. He showed me the Galaxy Nexus on his screen and ask me do I want to pre-order. I asked him was it the 16GB or the 32GB The system did not say so I declined end of story. If the system said that it was the 32GB version then I would have proof it would be my receipt.

just because the guy asked if he wanted to preorder doesnt mean it could actually be preordered!!!! i can guarantee you that the process would have met an obstacle at some point navigating through the vzw system. i could call my vzw buddy right now and ask him about it. he could say you want to preorder..............doesnt mean anything whatsoever

A lot of the time with these Verizon "pre-orders", it's Verizon employees writing your name down on a sheet of paper.

I never did a preorder before. Just always bought phone on Day one or 2 weeks later so I would not know that.. I did see the Galaxy Nexus in his system for pre-order. If it would of hit a snag I do not know because I did not go through with it... The guy is someone I trust.

Ok, so I go into to a Verizon store today and ask if I can pre-order the Galaxy Nexus. The sales guy looks at me with a bewildered look and asks, "Who makes that?...Motorolo?? So I looked at him for a sec and I said......really?? So needless to say he told me it wasn't in their system so who knows.

...1st if you don't believe that sounds like a personal issuew/ you.....

Maybe you don't quite grasp what I was referring to. What I took issue w/ had little to do with you, it was the words you stated that came out of that employees mouth stating that you could pre-order the device before the release. We all read alot of rumors and poor info. in forums before Verizon releases many phones. Seeing what you wrote irked me cuz, to my understandining, that's a total bs statement from either one or both of you. From what I've been told that's not a possible scenario.

?Check my past post before calling a person a liar.
What revelations would I uncover in your previous posts to show me that would've changed my reply ? Is it that in the past, you've conversed with some
Verizon employees in the past, most recently of which, was in a store at some mall in NC. I don't care who you spoke with or heard from, on this, my position stands because it regards longstanding policies that are in place regarding unreleased units. What you did, said or might've informed people of in the past has jack squat to do w/ what I'm saying to you in this thread at present.

I'd like to point out, for the record, as to your claim of me calling you a liar, do you have a link to share? I'd love ro aee it cuz I'm having trouble finding it myself. Good luck w/that. Those weren't my fingers that keyed in those 4 letters on the screen before you. I simply stated I didn't believe that story occurred as you stated, and still don't. I'll watch my language, if you don't put words in my mouth, deal?

The rep showed me it in the system and said that I can pre-order it.
I took issue because I was informed by a former VzW rep., a close friend, who I used to nag about hooking me up w/ products, before he moved on to greener pastures. So I'm sure we can verify this with a simple phone call to a contact from HR @ VzW, if need be. Only administrative level personnel can access the databasebe for pre orders, at the moment. So there is no way in he!!, someone working at a retail store in a mall in NC could access what is required for submission. There are preventative measures built in the software for VzW that block access to all but select employees untill a specific chain of events take place. Which remains blocked until an announcement is made detailing when the beginning of an online, in-store or both, time period will commence via whatever channels they deemed suitable for launch. Once that info. is announced, it is then lifted and pre orders can take place. It was put in place so that the vast majority of employees cannot give preferential treatment to others, be it a customer, friend or family member.

So no matter what product page(s), SKUs in the inventory etc., he's shown you. Even if release info. is made internally known to employees about the pending release before it's public knowledge. A preorder cannot be entered into their database for consumer dispersal until the block is removed and that has NOT happened yet. Care to enlighten me how he managed to do this? I know a girl from HR would love to be made aware of this purported breach of a company policy. Guarantee your next visit w/ this rep. won't be in a Verizon store.

That is when I ask him why isn't the GB listed he did not know...I ask him if I pre ordered it and it was a 16GB can I get my money back because I want 32GB. I was told that I will loose my pre-order money maybe one of you guys can tell me if this is true or not. If I am going to pay close to $300 for something I want what I pre-ordered.

It might just be me but this seems to be a very questionable statement. Why would you ask someone for confirmation here, regarding, that policy about losing your $300 if you got that answer from the horses mouth, in this case a trusted Verizon employee, to your ears already? Why would he lie to you about that, if he's "trustworthy"? Do you doubt the person you say is reliable? Care to shed light on this?

P.S. Just a reminder to you also just in case you still think I am lying. If it is on the web site it is in Verizon's system...

Again, at no time did I ever state you weren't shown something about the GN by someone. In fact, you're absolutely correct, you are not lying, the device and several related sku entries are in their system right now. What is in there is for inventory reference, at the moment, not consumer dispersal. They can't process preorder requests based on the info. that is available to them, yet. So put that in you're pipe and smoke it instead of acting like Mr. Know it all.

Haha! I sure wish it was in VZW system for preorder because, I'd would have preordered it by now. I've been checking MYverizon everyday just in case.:)

Well if what I heard from certain people is true (if they actually know what they're talking about, which they usually do), we have a high probability of finally seeing the announcement we have all be waiting for between monday and thursday, most likely on the 16th. As for the actual release date, they didn't know but postulated it to be either thursday, black friday or cyber monday.

Also, tech reps and cs reps do NOT know information earlier than we do, even most managers don't know. Verizon keeps this stuff on a need to know basis to prevent possible damage to their bottom line. The low level employees are not on that need to know basis due to the sheer volume of people that work for the company. More people, more chance at leaks = lower bottom line and you don't need to be a business major to know that every corporation is going to do everything they can to avoid damage to their revenue. The only people who really know what's going on are the executives who are trained to not let leaks out and employees who are good at eavesdropping and datamining (and people who find those skillful employees too )

no offense I find it hard to believe.. especially with all the hype and people wanting to beable to pre-order / order so bad.. that you not only physically saw the nexus available in the system.. and had the oppurtunity to pre-order.. yet simply didnt.

and no the 16/32 gb arguement goes nowhere with me.

sorry..

For what it's worth Preach, I don't doubt what you say, I have no proof to the contrary. Whether that individual actually could do what they told you or not doesn't change what you may have been told. Why some people are so determined to prove others wrong in an attempt to make them look stupid is beyond me. I think it makes the accuser look silly as they have no proof of their own to provide to dispute the original claim. I mean, is there a cookie waiting for you if you do prove someone wrong?

I agree. Not to mention it isn't like you couldn't cancel the preorder and get the money back. Verizon isn't going to keep your money if they come out with a 16 gb and you don't want that. Just seems like something to build more hype, some he said she said stuff. But hey maybe he was right, but without any proof nobody except himself will know.
