Waiting for the Bionic, Preorder?

I used that on my D1, maybe this is just new hotness for me and I will switch back. I remember how horrid blur was on the D2 when it launched and this is nothing like that.

I've never had to deal with custom skins. The Droid never had one nor does my Xoom. Won't this be fun.

I had the OG Droid before this and loaded every custom rom with every imaginable homescreen replacement on it. I always went back to LauncherPro or Stock. I only know about the D2 and blur as a phone of my friends have it.

I was really a little scared when I ordered the phone not having seen it or read a review but was pleasantly surprised. I removed a widget off of the homescreen and customized the app drawer, then I was good to go.

I may end up with a bionic anyway. I have another upgrade available, if it is that much better I'll pick it up and hawk the D3 on ebay for surely more than the $120 I paid for it.

Very nice. I really like LP, as well, but, I'll try this blur thing and give it a whirl when I get the Bionic.

I haven't had problems with bootup and wifi thank God. I'm running CM7 on it. That doesn't sound like a fun situation with yours, either! But, let's be honest....our Droids have served us well, yea? I mean, think back to when the Droid came out and what phones were available. The fact that we're almost 2 years later still using it and it's keeping up with the new "big boys" for the most part....that's amazing. Let's hope the Bionic has the same staying power!!

Oh I def agree! Haha it has been an amazing phone! And your right, our "grandpa" phones are still running strong with these new and improved phonnes! Ill give motorola a thumbs up for the OG Droid! One great phone!

Aside from the fact that it aged well operationally, my OG Droid took many spills onto pavement. It has the paint off and the metal showing around the screen and even a few chips of metal missing. 0 scratches on the screen and I never used a screen protector.

I am all for the motorola build quality. It's still faster, rooted and overclocked, than some much newer phones out there.

I have a screen protector on mine (bubbles and all as I did it myself the very first day they came out) and I also have some paint missing around the edge of the screen but other than that it's in perfect condition. That gorilla glass is pretty strong. I'm REALLY hoping the Bionic build quality is up to par.

I put the glare reducing screen protector on my D3, no bubbles and yes I patted myself on the back, even though it has gorilla glass. It is noticeable, unlike the standard screen protectors, but it helps a lot in the sun and I am outside a lot. I'll probably peel it off in the winter. I've found the way to no bubbles is to use a credit card to smooth it rather than the little piece of plastic they give you.

I am guessing the build quality of the bionic will be on par with the D3 and x2, which is a good thing.

If you are out of warranty, make sure you don't have your car at the dealer. At least in my area, they are 10-15 dollars more an hour for labor.

I do it myself but if I needed something I couldn't do, I would for sure price shop. Laber prices can vary greatly.

Just have the mechanic skip the brakes. They're really unnecessary.

I had to take it to the dealer in this case. It just ended up needing quite a bit of work and some of it was recalls that I've been putting off. sigh. OH well.

Tbh... I think it will be 250 for new users and 200 for an upgrade. If they sold the thunderbolt and charge that way, they will do it with this.

I think it will be 299. That's what the charge was and the best buy rep said thats what his vzw rep told him it would be. Maybe on internet sites it may be cheaper but not at vzw or best buy.

Your right, I think that was the Charges price, I think I saw 250 when I looked for an upgrade and 200 through some corporate discount my company gets.

I was shocked the D3 wasn't 200 to upgrade.

The D3 is $200 to upgrade if you don't have any other discounts (corporate or otherwise).

I, too, think the Bionic will be $299 are release. It seems all 4G/LTE devices start at $249 and if there is some discriminator there may be a price jump. I'm guessing that the Charge was more because of the display, although I admit that I really don't understand that price jump. The Bionic on the otherhand will be the first dual-core 4G/LTE device, so I would understand a price jump there.
