So, I have been a member of this site for about 2 months now and I have benefited greatly from all the guidance and help form the wonderful members on this board.

Now... I am trying to give back to the community

NOTE - I AM IN NO WAY TAKING CREDIT FOR ANY OF THE ROMS, ZIPS, ODIN PACKAGES, ROOT PACKAGES, CWM RARS, ETC... THAT CREDIT GOES TO THE AMAZING DEVELOPERS/MEMBERS ON THIS SITE.
(Namely Adry & TeamSbrissenMod for the Community Rom, and DroidXcon for the root method)

This thread is solely to explain HOW I used the information on this board to get to ED01 with the Communtiy ROM and with what I think are AMAZING results.

If you have not done a factory reset to install this ROM, I highly recommend it.

I first installed it directly over SC 2.9.2 with just cache/dalvic wipes... and it worked great. However, I decided I wanted to try out the ED01 radio.

So I went back to stock Eclair and got the ED01 radio.

Flashed CWM ALL 3-30 FIX (ODIN)

After flashing CWN through ODIN... BOOT DIRECTLY INTO RECOVERY!!!!

After that:

- factory Reset/Data Wipe
- flashed the Com ROM (CWM)
- rebooted
- flashed 1.2 Patch (CMW)

.... and viola... everything is GREAT!

Battery Life = AWESOME! (9 hours and 20 min unplugged and I have 67% left... that is with GPS on the whole time and moderate to hevay usage)

UPDATED BATTERY LIFE - Went 18 hours on a single full charge.... and that was moderate to heavy use... GPS on the entire time

anyway... just wanted to share me thoughts... thanks again to everyone who helped make this possible!

I hope this helps out anyone who is trying to get to the Com Rom with ED01

Hey buddy, I think you may be able to skip a step in there. Community ROM contains su and busybox, so it is pre-rooted. Since you didn't have any steps other than full wipe between rooting and flashing the Community ROM, the ROM would have rooted your phone for you. Hope this helps. If I'm wrong about that, then someone please correct me. Thanks.

when you boot into recovery... instead of the dalvik and cache wipe, do a data wipe/factory reset instead...

then flash the Community Rom

enable lag fix (if it isnt already)

reboot... and you should be good to go!

Yes, don't forget to delete the first update.zip that is for EA28 before you try flashing the ED01 update.zip. And you can enable lag fix just to be safe, but it seems like the nemesis2all kernel is enabling and doing the conversion automatically every time.

Thanks for posting this instruction. I finished step 1 ([Howto] Get to ED01 (Official Froyo) Quickly) and step 2 (Flashed CWM ALL 3-30 FIX).

Now I am ready to do below
- factory Reset/Data Wipe
- flashed the Com ROM
- rebooted
- flashed 1.1 Patch

but when I tried to go into the CMW Recovery, it is still in Blue with no option to flash zip file. I was expecting to see Red. Where did I go wrong?

reflash CWM ALL 3-30 FIX though ODIN, then reboot directly into recovery...

that should do the trick
