I don't know if its just me but is anyones nexus 5 charger hissing a lot when its plugged into a wall? I use the nexus 5 wall charger when i'm at school and didn't notice until recently. It also gets REALLY hot even when plugged in for like 15 minutes. I have chargers plugged in at home 24/7 and they never got as hot (or hot at all for the matter) as the one i got with the 5. Im kinda afraid to use it, don't want it blowing my phone up.

I have the same issue, minus getting hot. It has a low buzzing noise until my phone is plugged in. I read somewhere it has to do with loose pieces around the power source or something. The buzzing isn't an issue more of an annoyance, but if it is getting abnormally hot, maybe just use a different charger?

Haven't really noticed, haven't checked either since I've got a few Qi pads so the chargers are all hidden away and it's usually noisy around my house either way... I had an old Rio MP3 player charger that hissed a lot tho, and one of my ASUS TF chargers gets pretty hot. The former's probably just capacitor noise, the later may be due to how stuff is mounted inside (pressed closer to the plastic etc). I wouldn't worry unless it's too hot to touch.

Mine doesn't hiss or make any sounds for that matter. I would suggest getting a replacement if possible - better safe than sorry.

Is it the wall charger or the phone that gets hot? In either case, I've got no noise and no heat anywhere when plugged into the wall charger. I'd contact Google and see about a replacement.

The wall charger is getting hot not the phone. I read a product forum for it and Google said since it's not broken they cut do anything about it lol
