I'm having problems keeping my customize wallpaper for my contacts for messages. It keeps changing back to default. How do I stop it from doing that ?
Any help appreciated.

Where are the images stored? If they are on an SD card, try moving them to internal memory.

I'm using the messenger app that came with the phone and the wallpapers I'm using is download from Pinterest and then into my camera roll.

The Camera Roll (Gallery in Android devices) is actually just a 'window' into all your picture files, but that shows both internal memory and SD card. If you select an image and click on the menu button, you should see the DETAILS option. Tap that and check whether the image is stored in internal storage or SD card. If it's the latter, chances are the card is disconnecting at some point (i.e. at device boot), so any app using files from there would revert back to default since they can't find the file while the SD card is not loaded. Moving the image to internal memory should fix that problem.

That's weird... Does it do it randomly or after exiting the app? Does it do it for all customized contacts? Are you applying any themes (If so, this might be reverting things back to default or changing it to a theme-applied image, especially if the theme is not fully optimized for the newer OS/devices)?

For the Messages app, check the permissions and make sure it has Storage access to Media (don't think that's the issue but can't hurt to check).

It happens every time I delete the messages. It reverts back to default. Very weird. Sorry not very tech savvy. To check the permissions do I go into settings for that ?

Yeah long press the message app then tap info>scroll to permission and allow to use when using app

If you delete the messages to the point where the conversation is empty, then that's why it's reverting to default. Those settings go away if the conversation is, basically, deleted.

It does revert back to default, for awhile it would keep the customize wallpaper. Maybe I'll try Google message. Maybe that will work better
