Ive had my Nexus 6 about a year and the weirdest thing is happening in the last week or so. I set my wallpaper image and everything is fine. But then, later, and I don't know what triggers it, the wallpaper will blur. I can set the image again,no problem, but after a while it happens again. Nothing else on the screen blurs. Just the wallpaper. Anyone else ever have this problem? How can I fix this? Love this phone. Thanks.

Are you using the stock launcher or a third-party (i.e. Nova)? If third-party, then it could be a customization. If not, try another image. If that image also blurs then reboot the device (long press the power button and turn off/reboot). See if that helps fix the problem. Keep us posted.

Thanks for your reply. Interesting thing. It does happen when I use the Google launcher, but not when I use the Google wallpapers. In other words if I use the stock launcher with stock wallpaper, no problem. If I use non stock wallpaper I eventually get the blur no matter which launcher I use. Restarting doest seem to solve the problem. Puzzling.

Update: I misspoke. Using stock wallpaper with stock launcher, the wallpaper will eventually blur. Very puzzling.

I have exactly the same problem on my Samsung Galaxy S7. since this saturday my wallpaper is getting blurred after a while. sometimes it takes a few minutes sometimes a few hours.

I haven't installed any apps in the days before this started happening. anyone have an idea what is causing this?

I think I faced this issue long time back on Google Launcher. I switched to Nova after that.

Now when I switched back, the wallpaper was fine. I dont think there is a solution to this. Maybe a restart or using another launcher might be the stop-gap solution.

@Krishnanasasikumar restarts or switching launchers doesn't change a thing for me. tried it many times already but keeps happening.

It has to be some app in the background that does this. but don't know which one

Same here. Switching launchers and restarting doesn't fix it. Don't remember installing an app around the time it started happening, but maybe an update to an app caused it.

Anyway, this is the first real problem I've had with my Nexus 6 in over a year. And this isn't major, just a pain in the butt. Still, it would be nice to figure out what's causing it. Hopefully nothing serious.

I've switched launchers as well and now I, too, am getting a blurred wallpaper. Of course, I am using a different device than you all, but still! It's puzzling.

My 3month S7 Edge alao started doing this last November 28 and it's annoying! I've tried using several launchers but it's still happening.

So this morning I tried uninstalling other launchers (Arrow Launcher and Nova Launcher) and just sticked with TouchWiz.

It's been a day and my homescreen wallpaper didn't blur!

I hope this will last long and I hope this helps!

Very strange. Today I switched to Arrow launcher and haven't had the blur all day. Strange I even switched to Google launcher and Action 3 launcher for a few minutes each. No blur. Hard to figure out.

i switch to Arrow Launcher as well but had same problems there.

just uninstalled arrow and goodle now launcher to see if that helps as well.

Hey guys, just made an account to tell you all (that midwestern accent tho) about my experiences wit this weird glitch. So it started out on my Droid Turbo 1 (yeah guess we're shaking things up here) when I reset Nova launcher's settings. Now after anywhere from a few minutes to about an hour the wallpaper will start to blur. Tried different wallpapers, and resetting the settings. I'm now going back to Arrow launcher to see if I can have any luck with that.
