So I went online on walmart.com and found the X for $79.99. Here is the question though. My contract expires on 11/18 for my new every two but when I went through and added the phone to my cart, put my shipping and billing info in and everything it let me go all the way through to finalizing the order. Can I really just upgrade my phone like this? Or will I get billed or something since my contract isn't up until 11/18? Does anyone know how this works? The guy at walmart I talked to didn't know and said I would have to call back tomorrow to talk to someone in the "connection center". If this is legit I am ready to order it right now. Anybody know????

You can upgrade every year for the new customer price plus a $30 early upgrade fee. If you can go two years without upgrading your phone, you get a $100 credit towards a phone at the new customer price. Two years is too long for a smartphone. Pay the extra $30 and get a new phone for the discounted pricing. The only downside is when you upgrade it starts your new every two over again.

This is what it says when I go to upgrade.
The following are Verizon's requirements for upgrading your equipment:
•You must be at least 10 months into a one year contract, or 20 months into a two year contract.

•Your account must be in good financial standing and must not be past due.

•You agree to extend your contract for two years from the date of your order.

Note: Eligibility results may vary based on a variety of conditions such as usage history, payment record, and previous phone replacement.

Please note that pricing for upgrades may vary based upon whether you are upgrading the primary line on your account or a secondary line.*

*Other conditions may apply.

So how do they check your account or whatever? Do they contact you before they ship it to verify this information or what? Just seems too good to be true.

You can upgrade if you are within like 90 days of the upgrade date. I have tried that through different sites such as wirefly and a few others and eventually I end up getting a email saying it was rejected. Now the company you are ordering it from will tell you it shows you are fine because you are eligible for an early upgrade but verizon will block it. I couldnt wait so I had to get the phone earlier.

So they check with Verizon on it first before charging my card and what not? How do they check my account information if I'm not giving them that info? Just from my billing info? Should I just order and see what happens or ???

Well, that was fast. Already got the ineligible email back. Haha - said to return after 11/18 when I'm eligible for my upgrade haha. Stupid. LoL
