Want an upgrade from Kitkat to Lollipop

i am using Kitkat 4.4.4 and i want to upgrade it to Android Lollipop.. How can i do that and is it safe to do..?? My smarthone should not get damaged at all

Well...if your carrier has released the update then you should have it ready to update.
Your phone will not get messed up, unless you are on an unofficial ROM and want to do it that way.
