ASTRO can save a backup of your apps to your SD card unencrypted, which is a little worrying for paid app developers.

Also, if you put a 512mb or 1gb ext4 partition on your SD and use a ROM, most of the newer ROMs support App2sd already.

I agree, this is the only thing that holds the Droid back from a more full potential.

The fact that I have to watch my phone storage space when going download crazy in the market. Only have 256MB for apps is so 5 years ago. Droid should have 1GB of storage and/or be able to put apps on the 16GB SD.

Most of my paid applications I can't make backups of, however. For instance, Flightstats and Twidroid PRO are both marked "(Private)" and the check box is disabled. So I think if an app is encrypted, you can't use the Application Manager to back it up.
