You can change your phone number by logging into your Verizon account online. I did that a couple of months ago and there was no charge. Is Verizon charging for that now?

I was getting calls I didn't deserve. Phone numbers are recycled every 90 days.so this person calling didn't believe I was the person they were calling. Verizon changed it without charging me

I agree. Call Control is what you need for unwanted calls. The part I like is the PICKUP/HANGUP feature. The app won't let the caller leave a message.

No, it's a service that Verizon provides, if you cancel it you will stop getting it. Doesn't matter what you do to your phone.

Look into Google voice. All kinds of features including visual voice mail.
