Want to change WiFi network band on my Samsung A51 (4G) phone from 5 to 2,4GHz .

I want to change WiFi network band on my Samsung A51 (4G) phone to set up smart home devices. My new Spectrum WiFi 6 router provides Concurrent 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands (802.11ax 4x4:4)
according to Spectrum but the router only lists one listed WiFi Network Name. My phone automatically connects to the 5GHz band and the phone settings does not show that both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands are available. I need to switch to the 2.4 GHz band on the phone to set up my smart home devices. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to Android Central! I believe 802.11ax uses both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz at the same time, so there's no separating the two. https://www.extremenetworks.com/wifi6/what-is-80211ax/

Chances are that your smart home device doesn't support 802.11ax, so you probably have to change your router's wi-fi protocol to something lower, like 802.11n.

I think most routers have an option in the admin configuration to separate the 2 networks and have their own SSIDs show up. The default setting probably has them merged. So log into the router's GUI and look for the option to separate them

Would that still be 802.11ax, though? Or would you have to downgrade the wi-fi protocol to something lower in order to do that?

Right, but I'm not sure if that means you can actually separate the two in practice, or if it means the protocol uses both at the same time automatically.
