Want to pre order, but....

I have been wanting to pre order my Nexus 7, but have been hesitated because I have a lot of business and personal travel planned over the next few weeks. I don't want my Nexus 7 to be shipped to my home while I am out of town. All my upcoming travel will be domestic to major cities that have numerous Game Stop and Staples locations. Are these retailers going to offer in store sales at the initial release? I should have an opportunity from the road to get to a retailer early enough on the release day to get my Nexus 7 if that is possible. Because the actual release has been communicated as an approximate time frame, I cannot run the risk of placing an order and not being home, but I still want a Nexus 7 as close to release day as possible. Information on this has been difficult to come by so I am hoping someone on this forum has run across good information that can be shared.

Retailers should have them in stores, but it all depends on the stock that store receives and how many preorders they have signed up. all we have is speculation. your best bet would be to call some of the retailers in the area you will be in during the tentative release date 12th-15th and explain your situation and see if they have any info they can pass on to you. they might even hold one for you at no charge if they know they will have stock.
